Trauma Recovery
Your Foot Is on the Gas and the Brake at the Same Time
An active, somatic, and EMDR-informed approach to quiet the internal alarm, release stored survival energy, and move into a calmer, self-directed life.
Living with trauma feels like driving with one foot on the gas and the other on the brake.
An immense amount of your energy goes into simply staying balanced and composed, and little is left for actual living.
Your body remembers what your mind tries to move past.

The Whisper That Says You're Too Much
A sharp shift in plans or an unexpected conflict triggers an ancient emergency response.
Your heart races, your stomach clenches, or a wave of numbness washes over the room, and the safety of the present moment becomes impossible to register.
Over time, that constant high alert leads to a quiet, exhausting isolation, and a subtle friction in your relationships: over-accommodating others, struggling to hold firm boundaries, or constantly anticipating criticism.
Underneath it all lingers a persistent, painful whisper that something inside you is fundamentally broken, defective, or simply "too much" for anyone else to hold.
Understanding It Hasn't Been Enough for You
You have real clarity about the past, and still the physical tightness and hypervigilance stay locked in your nervous system.
Real relief means going beyond understanding, to safely discharge that stored survival energy at the root.
Resolve It in Your Mind, Body, and Nervous System
Trauma's my jam.
Because trauma lands in your mind, your body, and your nervous system at once, the work has to reach all three.
We begin by building a secure, non-judgmental relationship where your defensive masks can finally come off.
Four Ways We'll Reach It Together
From that grounded baseline, four active and experiential approaches work together.
- Somatic Attunement and Physical Tracking: Paying close attention to physical signals (a tight jaw, braced shoulders, shallow breathing) tracks where survival energy is trapped, and gentle, guided awareness lets your body safely discharge pent-up fight-or-flight energy so your baseline of high alert can finally drop.
- Gestalt Practice, Reconnecting With Aliveness: At its heart, Gestalt therapy is about coming fully alive in the present moment, and as we expand real-time awareness and bring creative experiments into the room, hidden emotional blocks soften and trapped energy, clear boundaries, and deep self-trust emerge.
- EMDR Memory Reprocessing: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing targets the specific frozen memory loops fueling your present-day triggers, and with gentle bilateral stimulation your brain's natural processing re-engages, filing old traumatic events into the past so they no longer hijack the present.
- Psychedelic Support, Reaching the Core: If you carry a deep, persistent sense of not feeling safe, or a lingering question about what truly happened beneath the surface, ordinary talk therapy sometimes circles the edges without reaching the core, and preparation and integration support around a non-ordinary state of consciousness offers a structured way to touch that underlying dread and make sense of what you've carried so long.
